Modo Labs Introduces Advanced Indoor Maps Module
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- Modo Labs, the leading mobile campus platform provider to universities and enterprises, today unveiled an Indoor Maps solution at the EDUCAUSE conference that takes ease-of-use and implementation to an even higher level. In a separate announcement, the company also unveiled a new Facilities module, both which will be demonstrated by Modo Labs at the conference, which kicks off September 30 and goes through October 1. The company will be exhibiting near the Learning Theater on the Expo floor at booth #367/369.
Modo Labs’ Indoor Maps module offers a leap forward in indoor mapping technology that goes beyond simply presenting a building’s floor directory and points of interest. As with other Modo Labs’ products, the Indoor Maps modules actually allows non-technical users to easily add and update the indoor map content entirely from Kurogo’s browser-based administrative user interface. The new module also allows users to:
• Browse and search a campus, building or a floor at a very detailed level;
• Search and identify different building features, amenities and other points of interest;
• Provide rich content (e.g., photos and videos) describing each building and its amenities;
• Deep-link to other modules (such as Facilities or Publisher) to provide a seamless user experience across the entire Modo Labs’ product portfolio; and
• Keep sensitive location information secure. Indoor location data is kept out of third party databases like Google Maps. Data can also be secured through user authentication.
Because of the ease of use, any organization will be able to empower administrators or even students to inexpensively and quickly map the interior of every building, with little or no training.
“Indoor mapping is growing in importance not only with universities but also sprawling campuses that can sometimes have several hundred buildings, such as hospitals, companies, organizations, airports, etc.,” said Andrew Yu, founder and Chief Technical Officer of Modo Labs. “This latest module reflects Modo Labs’ ability to meet the dynamic needs of our customers, enabling them to better support their constituents with innovative mobile and web apps.”
Modo Labs’ Kurogo Mobile Campus enables any type of organization to quickly create powerful multi-site and multi-role mobile apps that work seamlessly with any data source on any device. And best of all, non-technical staff can create powerful and beautiful apps that enhance the user experience and increase user engagement in ways previously only possible by hiring expensive mobile consultants and developers. The Indoor Maps module further extends these capabilities, and enables organizations to achieve new operational efficiencies via their mobile applications.
