Mohegan Sun Pocono Celebrates Completion of UGI Performance Solutions Combined Heat and Power Project
(PRWEB) June 02, 2017 -- Mohegan Sun Pocono celebrates completion of UGI Performance Solutions Combined Heat and Power Project with a special ribbon cutting ceremony and tours on Tuesday, June 20th, led by Mohegan Sun Pocono (MSP) & UGI HVAC Enterprises (UGI HVAC) executives. Mohegan Sun Pocono announced in early 2016, a new combined heat and power system (CHP) would be installed at the property, reducing its carbon footprint by 14 percent. The project is up and running, and Senior Developers from the Reading, Pennsylvania-based UGI HVAC, Inc., Mohegan Sun Pocono Executives, State Representatives, and other key members involved with this project will be on hand for a special ribbon cutting event on Tuesday, June 20th. There will be a tour to follow, where visitors can experience the CHP in action.
UGI Performance Solutions (http://www.ugiperformance.com), a division of UGI Corporation (http://www.ugicorp.com) is a leading CHP Company, known for its development and execution of state of the art Combined Heat and Power (CHP) projects alongside parent company UGI HVAC Enterprises, a part of the UGI Corporation family. The upcoming ribbon cutting ceremony will feature Steve Johnson, Business Development Manager, UGI Performance Solutions; Joe Hartz, President of UGI Energy Services; Anthony Carlucci, President and CEO of Mohegan Sun Pocono; and Jeff Seidel, Director of Capital Expenditure, Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority. The event will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 20, in the parking lot adjacent to the Mohegan Sun Pocono Executive offices and the central utility plant and will follow with tours of the facility.
CHP systems provide a reliable, energy-efficient source for heating and electric power and significantly reduce energy consumption. Also known as co-generation, the new system implemented at Mohegan Sun Pocono will generate electricity and heat from the same natural gas fuel source, making the process more efficient and environmentally-friendly than traditional energy processes. In addition to the highly efficient CHP process, natural gas is cleaner burning than traditional fuels. Mohegan Sun Pocono is excited to announce the project’s completion, and representatives are looking forward to speaking in depth about the project, presenting tours, and answering questions at the ribbon cutting event on June 20th.
Attendees will view the CHP during guided tours by UGI’s knowledgeable engineers and project leaders. UGI Performance Solutions provides full-service solutions for CHP Projects, like the one at Mohegan Sun Pocono, including the conceptualization, design, engineering services, construction, start-up and operation, as well as maintenance, design and construction of integrated solutions to meet clients’ energy requirements.
This project was funded in part by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority.
Along with the public, news reporters and photographers are welcome to attend the ribbon cutting event at 10 am followed by tours of the plant.
