MOMENTUM never stands still: Sennheiser launches second generation MOMENTUM headphones, adding wireless models to premium range

At CES 2015, the audio specialist takes the vision further with the launch of the next generation of MOMENTUM and MOMENTUM On-Ear. For the first time the range now includes wireless versions – the MOMENTUM Wireless and MOMENTUM On-Ear Wireless – with Active Noise Cancellation for the ultimate way to experience superior audio with effortless style. All new MOMENTUM models feature enhanced wearing comfort and a folding headband design for even greater portability.

Powered by the audio specialist’s proprietary transducers, they deliver the acclaimed MOMENTUM sound signature – detailed, pure and with a slight bass emphasis.
Advanced wireless design and cutting-edge noise cancellation
The new MOMENTUM Wireless and MOMENTUM On-Ear Wireless include NFC technology for effortless, “at a touch” pairing with an NFC-enabled mobile device to quickly establish a Bluetooth connection for audio transmission. The apt-X® codec delivers superior unaltered sound when connecting the headphones wirelessly to any Bluetooth® apt-X®-enabled device.
Also featured in the Wireless versions is NoiseGard™, an advanced Active Noise Cancellation technology that uses four microphones to efficiently monitor and block ambient noise and provide a perfect listening experience in even the noisiest environments. With long-lasting built-in batteries delivering 22 hours of entertainment, the MOMENTUM Wireless models are the perfect headphones for a superior listening experience on the move.
Luxurious comfort, supreme convenience
Designed with style in mind, the new generation MOMENTUM and MOMENTUM Wireless are available in elegant Black and Ivory versions. Additionally, Sennheiser launches the second generation MOMENTUM in a classic Brown edition optimised for Apple iOS products. The MOMENTUM On-Ear Wireless is available in Black and Ivory, whereas the wired MOMENTUM On-Ear is launched in Black, Ivory, Brown and Silver.
Across the range, the fit and comfort of the new generation MOMENTUM headphones has been enhanced beyond the high standard set by previous models. The headband has been subtly redesigned – still featuring genuine leather on the MOMENTUM and Alcantara® on the MOMENTUM On-Ear, but now rounder in profile to make it even more comfortable. The over-ear MOMENTUM now features larger, more padded ear pads for improved comfort. Their asymmetric shape ensures a perfect fit for excellent attenuation of external noise. The new MOMENTUM On-Ear retains the preceding model’s use of Alcantara® on the ear pads – a luxury material used by car and yacht upholsterers for its unique combination of softness, comfort and durability.
The new folding headband design allows the new MOMENTUM headphones to fold away tidily in the supplied carry cases for even greater portability. Use of ultra strong and lightweight stainless steel sliders ensures that the new models stay true to the essential design purity of the range, while the headphones remain robust enough for a lifetime of listening on the move.
The new MOMENTUM models feature a three-button in-line remote with an integrated mic for controlling music and taking calls. They will be available from January 2015 in two variants, optimised for either Apple iOS or Android and Windows smart devices such as Samsung Galaxy models. The Wireless MOMENTUM models allow for calls and music to be controlled directly from the headphones. These models come supplied with a charging cable and a flight adaptor as standard.
