Momentum Telecom Debuts Proactive Network Maintenance and RF Upstream Spectrum Analyzer Add-On Modules
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) July 28, 2014 -- Momentum Telecom, a leading hosted VoIP, broadband management and unified communications provider, today announced at the NCTC Independent Show the debut of two Nimble This add-on services that will help cable operators proactively identify service impairments that would otherwise not be seen until customers are adversely affected.
The add-ons will be available in two modules, a Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) Analyzer and an RF Upstream Spectrum Analyzer, that can be paired with Momentum’s existing Broadband Explorer (BBX) services.

Proactive Network Maintenance Analyzer
The PNM Analyzer allows cable operators to lower maintenance costs and improve cable video and high-speed data for subscribers by proactively identifying impairments and pinpointing the exact location of the issue on a map. DOCSIS pre-equalization enables cable modems to adjust their signals to compensate for upstream impairments in the cable plant, immediately improving the upstream signal levels received by the CMTS.
The PNM Analyzer:
- Locates upstream and downstream impairments

RF Upstream Spectrum Analyzer
The RF Upstream Spectrum Analyzer can serve as a replacement for traditional spectrum meters by leveraging the latest chipsets in cable modems and set-top boxes that are able to capture the full spectrum passing through the device. The analyzer displays the spectrum for all data and video channels the same way it would appear on a meter, without the need to be on-site at the customer location.
The RF Upstream Spectrum Analyzer:
- Supports DOCSIS 1.x, 2.0 and 3.0
- Remotely links via iPad or Android device
- Monitors every upstream port 24/7 without impacting CMTS
- Requires no additional hardware or equipment
