Mondo Juve Shopping Mall Kicks Off in Italy
(PRWEB) September 22, 2014 -- Mondo Juve, set to be the largest shopping center in the Italian Piedmont, has just completed the initial construction phase, including all concrete structures. PENETRON ADMIX was used to treat the concrete structure of the mall, which is located close to an aquifer.
The new mall is named after the nearby training facility of the well-known Juventus soccer club of Turin, Italy – a perennial powerhouse in the Series A professional league. Spread over 82,000m^2, the “Mondo Juve” shopping mall will feature 100 retail stores, as well as several dining areas and indoor/outdoor play areas for children. Outside the mall, there will be about 80,000m^2 of landscaped green spaces and 4,000 parking spaces. A budget of €220 million is being invested in the project, with €40 million dedicated to upgrading public transportation and the immediate road network. The grand opening is set for mid-2016.
The shopping center features numerous energy-saving and sustainable enhancements such as energy recovery systems (for A/C), passive solar designs, energy efficient lighting systems, and water recycling systems (from the parking area) that use a PENETRON-treated tank as part of the fire prevention sprinkler system and for irrigation of the outside landscaped areas.

PENETRON ADMIX was used in all the walls of the shopping mall structure. About 1,500m^3 of concrete was treated. In addition, a 1,000m^3 water tank, part of the mall’s integrated fire prevention system, was also treated with PENETRON ADMIX.
