Monkey Mat, a Shark Tank Winning Company, Seeks Kickstarter Funds for a Uniquely Portable Mat that Provides Luxurious Lounge
Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- Christie Barany and Courtney Turich, Co-Founders of Monkey Mat LLC, announce today that they are raising funds via rewards/equity crowdfunding site Kickstarter to launch their innovative ultra-portable Quilted Monkey Mat. Their goal is to raise $10,000 to provide an accessible price point through reduced manufacturing cost for their latest offering to allow people of all ages to create their own comfortable space on the go.
With Kickstarter, fund seekers have a set number of days to raise all funds, or the project receives nothing. Monkey Mat’s campaign ends December 16 to allow for fulfillment in time for Christmas. If the $10,000 goal isn’t met within that timeline, all pledges are cancelled and the project will not be funded.
This Kickstarter campaign is Monkey Mat LLC’s first crowdfunding initiative. When asked about Kickstarter’s appeal, Turich noted, "We believe it is a powerful avenue to spread the word about our new offering and also connect with an audience we can grow our ideas with.”
The original non-quilted Monkey Mat, featured on ABC’s Shark Tank, has been successful with a primary focus in the baby market. Believers in user-centered design, Courtney and Christie realized there were additional unmet needs beyond their debut product. “There are times when we all just need a little more cush under our tush,” joked Barany. “Identifying frustrations with the bulkiness and lack of portability of typical outdoor blankets, we set out to create a product that would provide compact carrying but still allow for luxury lounging.” Barany said.
The Quilted Monkey Mat is a 5’x 5’ durable ripstop nylon mat in an attached ultra-compact 10” square pouch, offering the ultimate in portability. It has a waterproof base, center loops to attach items, a spill resistant top, weighted corners and loops for stakes.
