Monkimun Does It Again: Flagship Product, Lingokids Earns 2016 Academic’s Choice Brain Toy Award
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2016 -- Lingokids is the winner of this year’s Academics’ Choice Brain Toy Award in the mobile app category, shortly after having launched its newest version of the kid’s English learning platform. Lingokids 3.0 brings a complete English course experience by incorporating a wide range of videos, songs and activities to the original game-lessons, as well as personal teachers that guide the students throughout the course with videos to help them absorb the learning. In addition, parents get help from the Lingokids Educational team with tips to bolster learning goals.
This is the third award that Lingokids receives this year from industry experts and educators. The platform is setting the pace for the future of early childhood language learning with a self-directed, adaptive English course that immerses the child in a guided, play-based learning experience.
A critical segment within education, early childhood presents a tremendous opportunity which remains underserved as it has very distinct challenges, such as the short attention spans of children and the challenge of pre-literacy. At the same time, the unique stage of brain development allows a superb absorption of knowledge, which is the reason why Lingokids focuses on this particular age interval: “Right now, language learning apps and online courses are limited to adults and children in primary and secondary school”, says Jens Peter de Pedro, Monkimun’s Director of Experience. “Tablets and smartphones have opened a world of knowledge in early childhood, making possible methods like ours, in which kids learn by playing, the most natural and efficient learning method for us as human beings” concludes Marieta Viedma, co-founder and CPO.
The timing of the Brain Toy award seems just right: last month Monkimun partnered with Digicrafts in South East Asia, continuing its expansion in South East Asia. The agreement will help Lingokids to continue to grow amongst the predominantly pre-paid user base in the region thanks to the carrier billing integration that Digicrafts has devised with DTAC, Thailand’s second largest telecom provider with more than 25 million subscribers.
Academics' Choice is the only international awards program designed to bring increased recognition to publishers, manufacturers, independent authors and developers that aim to stimulate cognitive development. A volunteer panel of product-appropriate judges, including parents, educators, scientists, artists, doctors, nurses, librarians, students and children, evaluate submissions based on educational benefits such as higher-order thinking skills, character building, creative play, durability and originality. Only the genuine "mind-builders" are recognized with the coveted Academics' Choice Awards.
This uniqueness resonates with Lingokids’ mission of offering a high quality curriculum developed by renowned educators to young children with limited access to quality language learning tools. As the company’s Director of Business Development, Enrique Criado, points out, “what makes Lingokids unique is that we provide a truly structured approach through a combination of original games with hand-picked third-party educational content while establishing an emotional connection with the child and all of it at a fraction of the cost of a traditional English program”.
