Monroe College To Launch Human Services Associate And Bachelor Degree Programs In Fall 2015
Bronx, NY (PRWEB) June 04, 2015 -- Monroe College, a national leader in urban and international education, today announced that it is launching associate (A.S.) and bachelor (B.S.) degree programs in Human Services this fall to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals working in social service agencies, mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities, domestic abuse shelters and community centers.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in human services is expected to grow 22 percent over the next seven years, due to the expansion of the adult day care system and growth in group homes and residential care facilities that require the attention and care of educated practitioners.
Monroe's new human services degree programs, offered through its School of Allied Health Professions, are designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the needs of diverse communities and individuals. The associate degree program aims to prepare students for entry-level positions, while graduates of the bachelor degree program will be eligible to seek employment in management and leadership roles. In keeping with the college's emphasis on real-world experience, both programs require the completion of two supervised field placements to ensure students are well prepared to serve children and adults in a variety of settings.

The human services degree programs will be offered at both the Bronx and New Rochelle campuses, beginning in the fall 2015 semester.
Monroe College's School of Allied Health Professions currently offers associate degree programs in medical administration, medical assisting and pharmacy technician and bachelor degree programs in health services administration and public health.
