Tomah, WI (PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- It’s fair season in Wisconsin, and that means food, animals, and fun for the whole family—especially at the 159th Monroe County Fair.
The Monroe County Fair will be held Wednesday, July 29th through Sunday, August 2nd. Tickets are $3.00, and admission is free for children five and under. Kids can enjoy the AgVenture Pavilion, which is home to the small animal learning center, watch a rodeo, or compete in a talent competition.
While you munch on corndogs and cheese curds, you can watch a dog obedience show, animal judging, or your choice of presentations. Throughout the fair, animal judging will include poultry, rabbits, sheep, llamas, pigs, cats, and horses. Wander the barns to get up close to the animals and watch as entrants prepare their animals for competition.
True to this year’s fair theme, “Hollywood Showcase,” the 2nd annual WI Talent Show, for ages 2-18, will be held at the fair. One winner from each age category (2-12 and 12-18) will advance to the WI State Fair competition. First through third place winners in each age bracket win a cash prize.
Other special events and entertainment include “Hug-a-Pig,” live bands, and a rodeo.
About the Monroe County Fair:
The first Monroe County Fair was held in 1858, and the fair is now in its 159th year. In the past, the fair has featured bicycle races, harness racing, and acts like Martina McBride. Last year, in 2014, a new building, AgVenture Pavilion, was added to the grounds.
