Monster Energy's Maggie Voisin Claims Bronze in Women’s Ski Big Air at X Games Norway 2017
HAFJELL, Norway (PRWEB) March 12, 2017 -- Monster Energy would like to congratulate Maggie Voisin for absolutely throwing down and earning a bronze medal in Women’s Ski Big Air at X Games Norway 2017. Voisin was stomping all day, and earned a total score of 76 for her efforts. Voisin landed a massive flat spin 900, which was her highest scoring trick of the night and judges awarded her 40 points for this trick alone. This score catapulted Voisin from fifth place into the bronze medal position.
Following the event, Voisin was excited for her finish and talked about overcoming some issues with the course.
“It’s been crazy, between slopestyle and big air speed has a been a huge issue, which is one of the reasons why I didn’t go switch tonight on the big air jump, said Voisin. There is only so much we can control out there and dropping into both contests, I just wanted to have as much fun as possible. That’s what it’s all about.”
This marked one of the first times the 18-year old Montana native has ever attempted a flat 900 in competition, and she put it down with smooth style and confidence.
“Tonight I really went out and took a deep breath and relaxed from all of the other stress from the past few days and just rode my best, said Voisin. I’m thankful it obviously paid off.”
This marks Voisin’s second X Games medal, and her first bronze medal in this event. This podium finish is another great success for Voisin who has her sights set on the 2018 Winter Olympics in Peyoncheng, Korea.
ESPN and TV2 will each distribute 13.5 hours of live coverage. TV2 will air the competitions live in Norway, while ESPN’s coverage will be distributed live in the U.S. on ESPN3 and as part of its World of X Games series on ABC. In addition to the content on ESPN’s U.S. media platforms, X Games Norway 2017 will be televised globally on ESPN International networks and distributed to other international media outlets and broadcasters via ESPN’s media distribution business.
