Montgomery County Library System Acquires a Total of 18 New AWE Early Literacy Station™ Educational Computers for its Youngest Patrons
(PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- The Montgomery County Memorial Library System (MCMLS), headquartered in Conroe, Tex., recently purchased 12 new Early Literacy Stations™ for the South Regional Library and the George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library through a generous donation made by the South Montgomery County Friends of the Library. The library also took advantage of AWE’s current “Early Literacy Station 10-Year Anniversary” promotion special for this purchase. In addition, the library has just announced the acquisition of six more Early Literacy Stations using available end-of-year budget funds.
“We would like to thank the South Montgomery County Friends of the Library for funding the new Early Literacy Stations for our libraries in The Woodlands and for their ongoing support of our libraries,” said Jerilynn A. Williams, Library Director.
“This product is one that we know will help address our vision of enriching lives by providing access to information, ideas, and interactions. When end-of-the-fiscal-year funds became available recently, six more Early Literacy Stations were purchased as well. These particular units are being placed at the MCMLS facilities located in Conroe, Magnolia, New Caney, Willis, and the city of Montgomery—much to the delight of youngsters, parents, and staff,” Ms. Williams noted.
AWE’s Early Literacy Station™ is an all-in-one touchscreen computer system designed for children approximately 2-8 years old. It features 70 educational applications that offer hundreds of activities. The Early Literacy Station does not need to be connected to the Internet to operate. It features a child-friendly interface and intuitive content menu for easy navigation.
“AWE’s Early Literacy Stations have been an effective educational tool in our library system for a number of years,” said Children’s Librarian Shelly Lane. “The computers are always in use and parents often comment how their children are learning a lot.”
The “Early Literacy Station 10-Year Anniversary” promotion is being offered in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the first version of the Early Literacy Station. The promotion provides special loyalty pricing and trade-in credit for current customers.
The Early Literacy Station, AWE’s flagship product, is found in more than 40% of the public library systems across the United States. The Early Literacy Station is available in English, Bilingual Spanish, and Bilingual French.
