Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center to Host the Public Opening of “I Didn’t Know How to Tell You” a Showcase of the Art of American Combat Veterans, Exhibition June 23
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (PRWEB) June 08, 2018 -- I Didn’t Know How to Tell You showcases the art of American Combat Veterans who have turned to art, music, and creative writing to heal their unseen wounds of war. This very special show honors American Veterans who have suffered from Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and/or Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), and through the CreatiVets programs learn to use art and music as a form of stress and anxiety relief enabling the veteran to tell his or her story in a way that creates something beautiful out of something tragic.
At the opening reception guests will have the profound opportunity to hear from veteran artists who have benefited from the CreatiVets program and to hear from special guest speaker, Lt. Col. Courtney Rogers (ret. Air Force).
The opening reception for the show is June 23rd from 6 to 9 p.m. Visitors to The MACC will be able to enjoy the exhibition through July 21st. There is no cost to attend.
The MACC hours are: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. For more information about the exhibition, contact Kathleen Johnson at [email protected] or by calling (615) 822-0789.
