More Access to Eating Disorder Treatment
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- The Bella Vita, one of the country’s premier treatment centers for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and EDNOS, is scheduled to launch a Day treatment program and Intensive Outpatient treatment program in Santa Clarita, California in early 2015. Our new treatment center will offer the necessary care, education and support for adolescent and adult males and females in the heart of the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys.
Eating disorder pioneer Dr. Patricia Pitts, PhD, discovered there was a need for eating disorder resources and treatment in the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys. “When a community has limited resources for individuals struggling with eating disorders, the community is missing its heartbeat,” Dr. Pitts shared. Opening this new treatment center will provide the community with much needed expert care. “We get excited for each individual that walks through our doors. We understand someone with an eating disorder turns to food or away from food as a way of coping with issues in their life. Along the way, their eating disorder begins to remove intricate pieces of one’s life, such as self-compassion, positive self-esteem, health boundaries and an appreciation for one’s body that makes us whole. With our guidance, we will re-establish those pieces and begin a journey towards wellness – a balance of physical, mental and spiritual health,” Dr. Pitts explains.
Patients enrolled in either program will have a personalized structured treatment plan that includes individual, family and group therapy sessions focused around nutritional, psychological and medical goals to improve their well-being. The treatment center also plans to offer free weekly Family & Friends and Community Eating Disorder Support Groups to provide even more support to the communities at large. More details about the opening of The Bella Vita Santa Clarita will be available on the company website.
