More Midtown Manhattan Allergy Relief is on the Way

Specifically, effective July 15th, 2014, Allergist/Immunologist Robert Sporter, MD will join the Practice’s midtown Manhattan office, at 261 Fifth Avenue, adding his impressive credentials to those of current office physicians including otolaryngologists Tahl Y. Colen, MD; Jay N. Dolitsky, MD, FAAP; David A. Godin, MD, FACS; Ofer Jacobowitz, MD, PhD, FAASM, FAAOA; Allergist/Immunologist Hale Yarmohammadi, MD, MPH and Audiologists Sara Beckerman, AuD; and Angie Pierre, AuD.
Robert Sporter, MD earned his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Pittsburgh, and his MD from New York Medical College. He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After completing residency, Dr. Sporter was selected to serve an additional year as Chief Medical Resident. During this time, he was involved in the teaching of medical students and residents, and was recognized for his leadership and patient care. He has a particular interest in patient safety, having led a hospital-wide multidisciplinary team in a patient care improvement project over several years. For this work, he received a research award from the Department of Medicine, and presented the project at the British Medical Journal’s International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in Paris, France. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Sporter will complete his fellowship training in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of NY. He has conducted research in numerous aspects of the field, including chronic hives, food allergy, anaphylaxis, immune deficiencies, and resident education, and has published and presented his research at numerous national meetings. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and the New York Allergy and Asthma Society.
