More Practitioners Certified in Updated Schroth Method at Scoliosis3DC
Woburn, MA (PRWEB) April 21, 2015 -- Dr. Marc Moramarco, Woburn, MA and Dr. Hans-Rudolf Weiss, Gensingen, Germany recently completed the first U.S. Schroth Method Best Practice® course for practitioner training. The course was attended by physicians, chiropractors and physical therapists from international locales including Australia, Denmark, USA and Canada. Course attendees learned the most advanced techniques of Schroth-based scoliosis management principles to offer to patients internationally.
Course organizer, Dr. Moramarco, began his Schroth-based “scoliosis back school” in 2007. He has since treated hundreds of scoliosis patients with the goal of helping them halt curve progression. Some adolescents have succeeded in reducing curvature to some extent. Other goals of this Schroth program include improved postural appearance, vital capacity and reduced pain.
For this first U.S. course, Dr. Moramarco chose to limit the group of attendees for maximum impact and understanding of course content due to the nuanced nature of Schroth methodology. The comprehensive five-day event included an overview of current evidence and management for the conservative treatment of scoliosis, the importance of patient education for the successful nonsurgical treatment of scoliosis, the significance of proper curve classification–according to Christa Lehnert-Schroth, and an introduction to Cheneau-Gensingen bracing.
Participants were also schooled in effective Schroth Best Practice® program components including mobilizations, activities of daily living (ADLs), physio-logic® exercises, 3D Made Easy, and Schroth exercises. Physio-logic® exercises were developed by Dr. Weiss in order to address the sagittal plane of scoliosis, which is often neglected by different Schroth-based programs. His other advancements include 3-D Made Easy® and ‘Power Schroth’ exercises which were designed to make it easier to integrate the Schroth method into daily life for improved compliance and outcomes.
Weiss and Moramarco recently co-authored an updated guide to these newest Schroth Method developments: Schroth Therapy, Advancements in Conservative Scoliosis Treatment, in collaboration with recently deceased Christa Lehnert-Schroth, PT.
Dr. Moramarco is the exclusive Schroth Best Practice® Advanced Instructor and provider of Cheneau-Gensingen brace in North America.
