More Than 240 Youth Soccer Teams from 14 States to Play in Murfreesboro During the Tennessee Cup
(PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- The 2nd annual Tennessee Cup Youth Soccer Tournament runs Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2nd, 2013 and will bring more than 240 teams from across the region and across the country. For four days, the Richard Siegel Championship Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro, TN will host approximately 8000 participants and their families daily. The tournament typically draws 35,000 visitors alongside the players.
"Premier Soccer Services is excited to bring the Tennessee Cup to Middle Tennessee and Murfreesboro. The response from the community and the City of Murfreesboro has been great! The interest in the tournament has exploded this year and we will have overflowing crowd everyday with both local and visiting teams, families, and fans!" said Scott Spencer, tournament director and Premier Soccer Services president. He added, "The tournament has grown from 188 teams to 240+ teams this year with teams from fourteen different states. The economic impact on the greater area will reach approximately $2 million and will shine a spotlight on the soccer community and Middle Tennessee!"
During the tournament, soccer fans will have the opportunity to watch soccer games, enjoy food and products from a variety of vendors and celebrate Labor Day. Food vendors like Kona Ice of Middle Tennessee, MaggieMoo's Ice Cream and Sparky's Kettle Corn, among others, will be providing delicious treats and food to the thousands of attendees. Dick's Sporting Goods is an official sponsor of the tournament!
Local hotels will also see the impact of the tournament. In 2012, about 2500 hotel rooms were booked in the area and the Tennessee Cup brought substantial revenue to the local businesses. With more teams participating this year, the number of booked hotel rooms will be larger. Working in partnership with the City of Murfreesboro and the Rutherford County Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Tennessee Cup also gives the opportunity for sponsors and vendors to target and interact with families in the local community as well as national visitors.
