More Women, Better Business: Women’s Networking Group Holds Inaugural Luncheon–Leadership Expert Fawn Germer to Keynote “AchieveHERs” Event

Tampa Bay, FL (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- New studies have shown that more women in top leadership roles tends to mean increased company success (1). The Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce (CRCC) took notice of the shifting business dynamic and recently sought better ways of reaching out to both current and aspiring women business leaders. After marketing research data revealed that women want a forum in which to share their experiences with other women in business, the CRCC formed women’s networking group entitled AchieveHERs. AchieveHERs will hold an inaugural luncheon at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Thursday, November 7 from 11:30-1:30 p.m., featuring well-known leadership expert Fawn Germer as the keynote speaker.

Extensive research has been done over the past decade that shows a direct correlation between women in management positions and a company's bottom line, meaning companies with more women in senior leadership roles perform better financially (2). AchieveHERs, which seeks to provide an opportunity for women to collaborate and exchange business tips and experiences, recently announced plans to hold its first event. At the AchieveHERs luncheon, Germer, who is an also executive coach, Oprah Book Club author and four-time Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist, will address “Hard-Won Wisdom,” covering what today’s most successful women learned through trial and tribulation.

Germer will also moderate a panel discussion with three of the Tampa Bay area’s most prominent women in business and what major hurdles each had to overcome in order to achieve success.

“Women have proven to be a desirable asset in the world of business,” said Tina Tenret, founder and chairwoman of AchieveHERs. “Once leadership began to shift from being male-dominated, we realized that we had to create a program that would not only benefit female business leaders who have already found their niche, but also create an opportunity for the aspiring young women in business.”
