Morgan & Morgan, Hinds County Sheriff’s Office to Host Jackson Toy Drive, Fundraiser to Support Mississippi Children’s Home Services on Nov. 17
Jackson, MS (PRWEB) November 09, 2016 -- Morgan & Morgan announces that the law firm, along with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, will hold a For The Children fundraiser from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Hal and Mal’s in Jackson to support the efforts of Mississippi Children’s Home Services to provide toys and support for underprivileged children this holiday season.
The holidays can be a magical time of year for children, but not all kids are afforded the ability to truly enjoy things like gifts and a loving, supportive environment. For those kids, the holidays can be challenging.
That’s why the law firm and these organizations are coming together to hold the event featuring the musical stylings of Chasin’ Dixie. The entry fee for this 21-plus, open to the public event is an unwrapped toy or $10 donation fee, which will benefit the MCHS’s work to bring a happy holiday to children in need in Jackson.
“MCHS does such important work with kids, and we are so excited to be a part of this event to help support them,” Morgan & Morgan attorney Lindsay Varnadoe said. “We love being a part of the Mississippi community, and are blessed with the resources to help bring the community together at an event like this for such a great cause.”
“We’re giving the whole community an opportunity to be a voice for the kids and support them,” Varnadoe added. “The children are, after all, our future.”
MCHS provides the state’s most comprehensive array of behavioral health, educational and social services for children and families. Established in 1912, the agency has a proven record of success for more than a century.
“Many of our kids have never had a joyful holiday season, which is why it’s so important for us to provide them with hope and a positive holiday experience. We can’t do that without the help of generous supporters,” said John Damon, PhD, Chief Executive Officer for Mississippi Children’s Home Services. “We are so grateful to Morgan & Morgan and the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office for their help in transforming the lives of Mississippi kids.”
Last year, Morgan & Morgan “adopted” a family in the area and provided them with bikes, winter coats, and other necessary clothing. This year’s For The Children fundraiser is an opportunity for the firm to touch even more lives in Jackson.
