MorganFranklin Consulting Director Scott Binder Named ISSA Fellow

Binder, a Director in MorganFranklin’s Information Management & Technology solution offering, has served as President of the ISSA National Capital Chapter Board of Directors since 2013. ISSA is a nonprofit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners dedicated to advancing individual growth, managing technology risk, and protecting critical information and infrastructure.

Binder has more than 20 years of experience assisting the federal government with planning, executing, and managing complex audit and information technology engagements. He has supported numerous federal agencies and private sector clients, including the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), and U.S. departments of the Navy (DON), Labor (DOL), Justice (DOJ), and Homeland Security (DHS). Binder has served on the Board of Directors for the Montgomery/Prince George's County Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), and he has worked on various committees for other professional associations. He holds numerous professional certifications, including: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA), Certified Business Manager (CBM), Certified FISMA Compliance Practitioner (CFCP), National Security Agency Information Security (INFOSEC) Assessment Methodology (NSA-IAM) and Evaluation Methodology (NSA-IEM), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA), and Federal IT Security Professional (FITSP).
The ISSA Fellow program recognizes an exemplary group of long-term members who have distinguished themselves in advancing the professionalism, stature, and influence of information security professionals. The Winter Class of 2014 will be recognized at the ISSA International Conference, which is being held Oct. 22 to Oct. 23 in Orlando, Fla.
