Morph 3D Announces the Launch of the Morph Character System (MCS), Available Now in the Unity® Asset Store
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- Morph 3D announces the launch of the Morph Character System (MCS). Available immediately are MCS Male and Female packs. MCS Male and Female Lite packs and an MCS Female Sci-Fi pack, all available now in the Unity® Asset Store.
Morph 3D entered the gaming market in June of 2015 with the launch of their “Sci-Fi Female” product in the Unity® Asset Store. Three months later, with their initial offering still showing as the number one most popular 3D Character in the Unity Asset store, Morph 3D ups the ante again with the launch of MCS Male and Female products, free Lite versions of each of them, as well as the first of their MCS add-on products, the MCS Female Sci-Fi 01 pack.
Mathew Wilburn, COO of Morph 3D stated, “Obviously we were pleased by the reception we received with Sci-Fi Female over the last several months. But we weren’t entirely surprised either. Research has shown that the Unity market is underserved in the area of character offerings. Only 12% of developers rate themselves as satisfied with current character offerings, with only 25% stating that they currently make any purchases from what characters are available.”
The Morph Character System (MCS) is touted as a “revolutionary new way to create custom characters for Unity.” By putting creative control into the hands of the Unity users rather than relying on the limited characters developers may choose to provide, MCS lets them express their own creative vision without the need to become 3D modelers and texture artists themselves. Furthermore, since the characters all come out of MCS, there is a consistent look, feel, and quality level that has previously not been available to customers who may be shopping across a variety of model providers.
Wilburn went on to say, “Higher quality characters are only part of the solution. No matter how good a character is, if I can’t make it what I envision, it will never really be ‘mine’. This mindset is really confirmed by the fact that 82% of Unity users express that they would rather use a character creation tool rather than purchase pre-assembled character packs.”
Morph 3D also has a ground-breaking approach for add-on products for MCS. Rather than relying entirely on in-house developers to produce add-on products, they plan to leverage the extensive network of global artists already in place and working with them as part of their Daz 3D heritage to ensure a flow of additional clothing, hair, and accessories. “We have a healthy pipeline of products we will be rolling out this year as well as into 2016 to bring more diversity to the roles our characters can play. We also have plans to take what we have learned by building relationships with top artists to be able to leverage and partner with some of the talented developers that the Unity community already has to offer. We fully plan to partner with and train developers rather than compete against them to ensure that this is a solution where everyone wins. But most especially the Unity users,” Wilburn concluded.
