Morrow Makes A Great Leap Upward With New 710 HC-L Luffer Crane
Salem, Oregon (PRWEB) September 14, 2015 -- Morrow Equipment today launched the all-electric 710 HC-L luffing boom crane for the United States and Australia, creating a new standard for loading time and lifting capacity in dense urban environments.
The 710 HC-L is manufactured by Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH and designed in collaboration with Morrow, which operates the largest fleet of tower cranes and construction hoists in North America. During the design phase, Morrow engineers collaborated with the Liebherr team to design the new crane’s load, dimensions and power requirements specifically for the North American market.
“We designed this crane to address the unique requirements of cities such as New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle,” said Rick Morrow, vice chairman of Morrow Equipment. “We listened to the concerns and needs of our customers, and the result is the 710 HC-L – a faster, more efficient and much cleaner alternative.”
The capabilities of the 710 HC-L crane include a maximum load of 141,100 pounds and high, free-standing hook heights that extend up to 245 feet. The new design allows for quicker load cycles, improved hoist-gear performance, superior load strength and ease of assembly. With the tower’s external dimensions measuring just 7.9 feet, the crane is ideal for working at great heights where space is limited.
Being fully electric, the 710 HC-L is also less expensive to operate and more environmentally friendly than other cranes of similar capacity, eliminating costly diesel refueling, air-pollution, and eliminating the risk of fuel spills.
“We are making a great leaps upward into the high-capacity, luffer crane market,” said Morrow Equipment President Christian Chalupny. “The combined engineering teams of Liebherr-Werk Biberach and Morrow have done outstanding work. Together, the 710 HC-L and 542 HC-L cranes leverage some of today’s most advanced crane technology to help our customers address logistical and economic demands while operating in high-density urban environments.”
As a fast-erecting internal or external crane that can be shipped by container, the A-frame platform of the 710 HC-L is designed for top- or bottom-climbing with a one-of-a-kind fly-jib, as well as quick-release fastenings and easy-to-insert bolts for shorter setup times. Additionally, the crane cab can be easily installed on either side of the tower, for better access when crane operators need to climb externally on the structure.
