MorseLife To Celebrate Groundbreaking for Palm Beach County’s Newest Luxury Independent Living Residence, The Tower at MorseLife
West Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) November 07, 2015 -- MorseLife Health System will celebrate the launch of construction of Palm Beach County’s newest luxury independent living residence, The Tower at MorseLife, with a groundbreaking ceremony on November 12th at 2:30 pm on its 37-acre campus in West Palm Beach. The 300,000 square foot, ten-story residence will be built in two phases at a cost of $77.6 million dollars and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017.
The Tower at MorseLife is the final building of MorseLife’s four-phase, $150 million capital project funded in part by the nonprofit’s Campaign to Transform MorseLife, which to date has raised over $31 million from the nonprofit’s philanthropic community. The previous projects included the Sondra & David S. Mack Pavilion for Short-Term Rehabilitation, which opened in January 2014; renovation of the long-term care residence, the Resnick Pavilion, which was completed in November 2014; and Memory Care Assisted Living, which opened in June of this year.
Keith Myers, President/CEO for MorseLife Health System, notes that The Tower at MorseLife will meet an increased demand in Palm Beach County for quality, full service independent living residences for active seniors. “The Tower will be built contiguous to our inaugural senior residence, The Tradition of the Palm Beaches, which opened in 2004 and consistently remains at 100% capacity with a waiting list,” noted Myers. “Building on the success of The Tradition of the Palm Beaches, the Tower will provide even more upscale resort-style living for our community, with all of the gracious exceptional amenities and services one would expect.”
The Tower at MorseLife will offer beautifully-appointed 135 one and two bedroom apartments in the first phase of construction, ranging in size from 780 to nearly 1500 square feet, gourmet dining in its restaurant and bistro, wellness spa, outdoor pool, housekeeping, transportation, security and a full array of activities. The plan is to offer a total of 182 apartments, with additional units built in the second phase of construction. “Additionally, while the goal is to enable our residents to live active, healthy lives, they will have priority access to the spectrum of health care and supportive services of MorseLife Health System, a noteworthy center of excellence in senior care, including short-term rehabilitation, assisted living, home health care, memory care, care management and long-term care,” Myers said.
MorseLife Chairman, Stephen A. Levin, who has also chaired the Campaign to Transform MorseLife, noted that the building of The Tower will represent a boost to the economy for the city of West Palm Beach. “This Tower will result in over 350 new construction jobs, and upon completion, will add approximately 125 new full and part-time jobs for management, administrative, culinary, housekeeping and other support staff,” he said. “This construction, along with the three other phases of our $150 million building project, has received unprecedented support from our loyal donors and friends, and we are so grateful for the gifts to The Campaign to Transform MorseLife that have made all of this possible.”
The architect for The Tower at MorseLife is the firm of Perkins Eastman, and the construction company is Whiting-Turner.
MorseLife Health System holds the 5-star quality rating from Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as well as the Gold Seal Award from the Governor’s Panel on Excellence in Long-Term Care.
