Moshi to Donate iPads and Accessories to San Francisco Public School
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- Moshi (http://www.moshimonde.com), creator of design-driven, eco-conscious accessories and electronics, today announced REfresh, a program facilitated through Glyde (http://www.glyde.com), a peer-to-peer online technology marketplace.
Beginning 11/5 and extending through 12/5, Moshi will purchase 30 2nd through 4th generation iPads listed on the Glyde marketplace and donate them to Hillcrest Elementary in San Francisco for use in the classroom. These iPads will be outfitted with a variety of Moshi accessories, including iPad cases, screen protectors and charging cables, to maximize device longevity and ease of use. Moshi will also provide basic IT services to Hillcrest to ensure the devices are integrated smoothly.
The pace of technological innovation can lead to excess inventory of accessories and electronics. While perfectly functional, this merchandise will normally be recycled or disposed of. REfresh will ensure previous generation product doesn’t go to waste, and instead goes to the benefit of the local community.
In addition to the cash Glyde.com sellers receive when their device is purchased, the 30 sellers of iPads chosen by Moshi for the REfresh program will each receive $50 to use in the Moshi online store (http://www.store.moshimonde.com). REfresh iPads will be chosen based on Glyde availability during the time period of the promotion.

“Protecting our environment, technology education, and giving back to the community are core Moshi values,” said Jon Lin, executive director at Moshi. “This, in combination with the long history of Apple products within education, were key motivators in developing the REfresh program with Glyde and Hillcrest. We’re really excited to see it come to fruition and hope to expand on it in the near future.”
Moshi, founded in Silicon Valley, takes a minimalist design approach within all aspects of product development, paying special attention to material selection to balance durability and recyclability. Moshi adheres to several internationally-recognized environmental standards and is currently developing additional ‘green’ initiatives to be announced later this year.
