Mountainside Medical Equipment to Donate Medical Supplies to the Utica Zoo
Marcy, New York (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Representatives with Mountainside Medical Equipment announced today that it has agreed to donate medical supplies to the Utica Zoo.
“We consider it an honor to be able to support this prestigious zoo and help out with medical supplies for the animals that reside here,” said Martin Zarnock, Jr., Vice President and spokesman for Mountainside Medical Equipment.
Mountainside Medical Equipment, Inc. is a wholesale medical supplies company that has served nursing homes, hospitals, and doctors’ offices for more than 40 years.

“After a recent visit to the zoo we decided as a company to donate supplies,” Zarnock explained.
The Utica Zoo has served the region for over 99 years. Located in Roscoe-Conkling Park, the zoo is part of a recreational complex made possible by the donation of land from Thomas R. Proctor in 1909.
The mission of the Utica Zoo is to foster public understanding and appreciation of wildlife species and their ecosystems through education, conservation and recreation.
Currently, the Utica Zoo is home to a diverse array of species, as well as attractions including zebras, red pandas, and California sea lions.
Included in the list of offerings, the zoo is also home to the record setting Watering Can sculpture donated by the Former Mayor of Utica, Ed Hanna.
Facilitated by an amazing team of curators, zoo representatives say, the Utica Zoo is growing to include new exhibits, events, and promotions.
Mountainside Medical, according to Zarnock, hopes to help the Utica Zoo achieve ambitious goals in education, community, and conservation.
“Partnering with Jackie (Veterinary Technician), Beth (Lead Keeper), and others, there is an opportunity to help support the local community and global ecosystem,” Zarnock said. “We are more than grateful for such an amazing opportunity and are honored to work with such a fascinating local attraction.”
