GENEVA (PRWEB) September 26, 2016 -- The multi-faceted jar of the new “eve`laor” skincare cream was conceived to be a symbol of luxury and femininity, like a diamond. The packaging design was entrusted to Awantys, a recognized partner who specialises in the development of innovative packaging.
For the launch of this new skincare line, designers were given free rein to create its packaging; however, since Middle East was the primary target market for this cream Superiority Group FZC, headquartered in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, insisted on designers using high-end materials to meet customer expectations in that region.
Like a real jewel, this fully transparent 36-faceted container shows a glimpse of the gold coloured interior. The jar cap and body are connected by a gold plated ring adorned with Swarovski crystals and the “eve`laor” logo.
To create this packaging, DuPont™ Surlyn® emerged as the material of choice, as explained by Carsten Wolansky, director of Awantys: "I did not hesitate a second. I have been using Surlyn® for many years and for me there is no other alternative to this resin for the creation of a bottle that combines transparency, aesthetics and luxury. In addition, Surlyn® offers that level of chemical resistance that is essential for the packaging of perfumes and cosmetics. We are pleased to work with Surlyn® as it gives us a great degree of freedom in the packaging conceptualization and pushes our design boundaries even further.”
The packaging of the new “eve`laor” skincare cream is a combination of precious materials. Its 36 facets were manufactured with Surlyn® PC2000, the only material that allows glass-like transparency in such thick-walled parts while allowing the creation of sharp edges. That precious design allows light to travel through Surlyn® and light up the gold metallized polypropylene interior of the jar as well as the gold plated ABS ring that links the cap with the jar body. Five Swarovski crystals give the final touch to the decoration of this packaging. Thanks to the superior haptic qualities of Surlyn®, the touch of the bottle itself is very pleasant. The whole design is created to please the senses.
“After so many years present in the cosmetics market I am still amazed by the capabilities of Surlyn®. Design boundaries were pushed yet again and I greatly appreciate the trust placed in us by our customers and brands who avoid conceptualization flaws and manufacturing risks by choosing Surlyn®,” said Claudia Tillmanns, key account manager Europe - Cosmetic Packaging for DuPont.
“Maison Surlyn®” will feature the latest applications made of DuPont™ Surlyn® at Booth D1, Hall Ravel at Luxe Pack Monaco – 21-23 September 2016. For more information, please visit: luxepack.dupont.com
