Music Choice Elevates Damon Williams to Senior Vice President, Programming Strategy and Partnerships

The elevation comes as Music Choice continues its evolution into a premier consumer destination for music on television. The announcement was made today by Christina Tancredi, Chief Operating Officer at Music Choice.
In the newly created role, Williams will lead and develop high level programming strategies, initiatives and partnerships to help increase usage and audience for Music Choice. He will be responsible for identifying and growing external relationships to bring innovative content and monetization opportunities to the network. Programming strategies include a mix of content acquisitions, the creation of multi-platform artist initiatives and integrated monetization opportunities that further define the brand as an essential music destination.
Williams will continue to be responsible for the company’s overall music strategy and label business development. He will lead all new business partnerships with artists, labels, managers and third party distributors like Maker Studios and Omnia Media to help drive network usage and grow its consumer audience.
Williams was previously VP Programming for Music Choice and has been with the company since 1998. Under his guidance, the company launched its successful On Demand platform in 2005 which continues to be the #1 Free On Demand network with over 1.1 billion annual views. He was also influential in the launch of the company’s linear network Music Choice Play in 2010. Over the years, Williams has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining relationships in the music industry for Music Choice working with labels, managers, and both up-and-coming and established recording artists.
In addition to his work at Music Choice, Williams serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of R&B music and assisting legacy artists in need with grants and donations.
