MVS USA to Deploy Its Remote Election Network in Support of Upcoming Elections in Brazil
Hawthorne, NJ (PRWEB) August 22, 2016 -- MVS USA, Inc., a leading mobile satellite communications provider, today announced that the company will once again provide remote communications services to support the upcoming 2016 Brazilian elections, ensuring that the votes of citizens living in outlying areas are counted.
As they did in 2012 and 2014, MVS will deploy its Election Network, a temporary closed-circuit network capable of transporting election data, via satellite, securely to the government authorized receiving point. This year in Brazil, MVS’ private network will support nearly 1,400 MVS SIM cards activated in BGAN terminals across the country during the two rounds of elections.
MVS has been building and managing remote communications networks to support elections around the globe for the past five years. In addition to its work in Brazil, MVS has supported elections in the Ivory Coast, Ecuador and the Philippines. In May, MVS successfully executed the largest remote communications project in the Philippines featuring more than 7,000 mobile satellite terminals. MVS’ network securely transmitted captured votes from those living in areas where Internet access is unreliable or unavailable to the Philippine Electoral Committee.

On Election Day in Brazil, the MVS Election Network will transmit data collected from 16 states, 380 cities and 1,269 localities as mayoral and city councilor elections get underway. The communications network is backed entirely by MVS’ technical support services and includes a virtual private network (VPN), a firewall, data encryption technology and enhanced redundancy.
