MyCoop.com Fosters Community in Urban Apartment Buildings Launching Today
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 27, 2013 -- MyCoop.com, a private online social platform that enables residents of apartment buildings to connect, communicate and support one another, as well as to be inspired about how to make life at home even better, has officially launched.
“We want to provide a way for people who already have things to share with their neighbors, or who want to share more, with an easier way to do so,” explains Alex Norman, MyCoop.com’s founder. “Much of what they have now, like email or general purpose social sites like Facebook, are either temporary or have little context and relevance for interactions among neighbors who live in a building or group of buildings together.” Norman a former executive at WPP Group, a global advertising and media conglomerate, was instrumental in bringing Fortune 500 companies into social media.
While MyCoop’s official launch was in New York City, it is open to residents anywhere ready to take action and is already picking up members in cities across the country, as well as with international expansion already on the horizon.
“Much like Yammer changed the ways in which employees communicate and collaborate within companies, MyCoop is already starting to revolutionize how people communicate with one another in buildings through a digital, social setting, and not one dictated or moderated by their building management,” says Norman, promising “What’s happening now is just the very first wave of change.”
