MyTime Launches in Austin to Bring Convenient Online Appointment Booking
Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 13, 2015 -- MyTime, the top online destination to book appointments with local businesses, announced they are launching in Austin, TX and piloting a new business model in that market.
MyTime is a venture backed company with the mission to enable consumers to find and book appointments online at over 2 million businesses nationwide, including 18,000 merchants located in the Austin area. Services that can be booked on MyTime range from haircuts to dog groomings to massages. MyTime can also help businesses fill their empty appointment times by promoting the businesses and offering their off-peak appointment times at discounted prices.
MyTime originally piloted its website (http://www.mytime.com) in February 2013 in Los Angeles, California and has experienced exponential growth since rolling out nationally and being featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, LA Times and ABC News.
MyTime’s Business Model
In markets outside of Austin, MyTime allows businesses to promote themselves on MyTime and charges a one-time commission of 40% on new customer revenue. In Austin, MyTime is moving away from the commission model and instead charging businesses a flat promotion fee of $49.99 per month to promote their business. The promotion fee is guaranteed to drive revenue, meaning it will be refunded if MyTime doesn’t bring at least $49.99 worth of customer revenue in a given month. Promotion includes advertising placements on third-party websites and greater visibility on the MyTime app and MyTime.com website. Businesses who choose not to promote will still be given a free MyTime profile so that MyTime’s millions of visitors can book appointments with them free of charge.
Selection of Austin
While many locations across the United States were considered for the pilot, MyTime Founder & CEO, Ethan Anderson, said: “We chose Austin for our business model pilot launch because it has the unmatched combination of a quick-growing population combined with a very tech savvy user base.” Initial marketing activities have already begun, with plans in place to rapidly expand the number of Austin businesses and customers using the service.
MyTime’s Mobile Apps
MyTime launched an award winning iPhone app, voted Top Mobile App at the 2014 Launch Conference and featured by Apple under Best New Apps. The MyTime Android App was released in January 2015 and is available for download from the Google Play store. The apps bring the convenience of on-the-go appointment booking to millions of mobile phone users. With the tap of a button, consumers can find, book & pay for all of their appointments from a single place.
