MyWay Mobile Storage of Pittsburgh takes part in 2015 Cornhole Classic to Benefit The Wounded Warrior Project
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- MyWay Mobile Storage is pleased to join with Cintas First Aid & Safety to host the 2nd Annual Cornhole Classic to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. The event will be held May 2, 2015 starting at 5:00p.m. at the dome at the RMU Island Sports Center. Jeff Hancher, Global Account Manager at Cintas, created the event last year to support the Wounded Warrior Project as a way to give back to veterans returning home. Ed Sickmund, MyWay Mobile Storage Market Owner and former Cintas General Manager, loved the idea and immediately joined on as co-host.
The Wounded Warrior Project helps injured soldiers returning home from conflicts around the world. More soldiers survive their injuries than in the past thanks to better body armor and better medicine, but that means that the number of service men and women returning home with physical or mental injuries is greater.
“I’m so glad we could do something to help our brave warriors,” says event organizer, Jeff Hancher. “These brave individuals and their families need our support now more than ever.” Hancher continued, “Wounded Warrior Project has a vision to foster the most successful well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history. As the Wounded Warrior Project puts it, ‘it’s not about the war, it’s about the warrior.’ We applaud that vision, and trust that the money raised by Pittsburgers at this event will be put to good use.”
There will be 50 cornhole teams competing for bragging rights and the $300 first place prize. Cornhole boards were built for the event by the Carpenters Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) with lumber donated by 84 Lumber. In addition to the cornhole, there will be a silent auction of signed sports items, gift raffles and 50/50.
“This year’s event will be even better than last year’s,” said Ed Sickmund. He continued, “Last year was the first year for us and we were figuring it out as we went along. Even so, we raised more than $6,000. This year we’ve added music, generously donated by the country band Saddle Up, so folks not playing cornhole will have entertainment. This year we’ve had terrific support from area businesses and hope to double what we raised last year.”

I encourage everyone to come on out to the RMU Island Sports Center and join the fun for a good cause.” Robb added, “We’re adding a special cornhole toss contest for additional prize money, just to keep things interesting.”
