N2 Publishing Announces Unprecedented Growth in First Quarter
(PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- Publicly recognized as one of the nation’s fastest-growing companies, N2 Publishing has ranked among the Inc. 5000 for the past four years.
But no previous growth compares to the volume at which the NC-based firm is currently hiring employees. During the first quarter of 2015 alone, the publishing company welcomed more than 80 new team members across the nation to the N2 family.
“It still feels like a startup, which is a great thing. The addition of so many phenomenal people creates a lot of change,” said N2 Publishing CEO Duane Hixon. “By now, we’re used to welcoming new people every week. We’re excited to find talented people that fit our culture. When filling positions for our main office here in Wilmington, we find some great candidates in town, but we also attract a lot of out-of-towners, too, because they’re excited to come to Wilmington and join this lifestyle.”
During 2014, N2 onboarded their 30th local new hire for the year in July. It was also during this month that the company, then bursting at the seams with more than 100 employees, purchased a much larger office space totaling 32,000 square feet. Renovations delayed the transition of moving offices, but N2 is now officially settled in.
Given that the firm has expanded its local staff by 35 team members in only the last three months, Hixon and his team are relieved to have the extra room.
“We’re in a great location with space to grow,” Hixon said. “We have room for more than just desks and meeting rooms; now we have space for amenities we never had before, like an employee lounge and a full-time fitness director who teaches two group classes every workday on site. It’s just another way for us to support a healthy environment, both emotionally and physically, for our team.”
Hixon continued, noting that N2’s office – while spacious and with some added amenities – won’t reflect the Silicon Valley-type workplace popular among fast-growth companies today.
“Like I’ve said before, don’t expect anything flashy when you walk through our doors. We have secondhand desks. Some areas of the building haven’t been renovated in decades, and we like that. Instead of appearance, we prioritize bringing on the best people and keeping them happy. If we can do that, we will fulfill our mission of 'turning neighborhoods into communities' with every publication we create.”
