Nadia Petrova (Actress Olga Fonda) Wears Minabea Jewelry’s Triple Chain Oval Earrings in Episode 5:5 of "The Vampire Diaries"
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- Contemporary jewelry artist Christi Schimpke, designer/owner, Minabea (http://www.minabea.com), has had her Triple Chain Oval Earrings worn by character Nadia Petrova (actress Olga Fonda) on Episode 5:5 of the CW Network’s hit show, “The Vampire Diaries.” The episode, “Monster’s Ball,” aired Thursday, October 31, 2013.
The show’s wardrobe designer, Leigh Leverett, selected Schimpke’s earrings for use on “The Vampire Diaries” after discovering them in a Stylist Gift Bag she received earlier this year from handcrafted arts promotion organization The Artisan Group®, of which Schimpke is a member.
The Goth / Boho inspired earrings, which Schimpke has dubbed “Nadia” in honor of their wearer, put the focus on smooth, 18k gold plated ovals adorned with three layers of delicate black chain. Custom ear wires feature black crystal accents. Handcrafted by Schimpke out of her Los Angeles studio, the earrings are part of the popular Every Day by Minabea collection.
“With these earrings, the contrast between gold and black is truly stunning,” remarked Schimpke. “I am so glad that Leigh chose them for Nadia Petrova to wear, they are a perfect match for the character’s mysterious demeanor.”
Ms. Leverett has also selected Schimpke’s Golden Arc Earrings to be worn by character Bonnie Bennett (actress Katerina Graham) on episode 5:11 of ‘The Vampire Diaries,” airing later this fall. The Golden Arc design, also part of the Every Day by Minabea Collection, showcases 18k gold plated and textured semi-circle shaped arcs. The arcs move freely from a delicate black chain, adding movement and energy.
“The contrast of gold and black creates an edgy effect that’s a great match for the look and feel of “The Vampire Diaries." I think these earrings will appeal to anyone who is looking to add a bit of drama to their look,” said Schimpke.
Schimpke notes that the arcs were originally sourced from Laura’s Jewelry Workshop. This small community workshop, located in central Mexico, is dedicated to lifting Latina women out of poverty by teaching them jewelry making skills. “I’m always happy to spread the word about Laura’s Jewelry Workshop,” remarked Schimpke. “They are doing great things for women and it’s an honor to support them.”
