NAID Partners With Group to Form Japanese Chapter
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) August 06, 2014 -- The National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) announces a partnership with RDV Systems of Miyagi, Japan to form the organization’s chapter in that country.
“We are very happy to have this formal relationship with NAID,” said Toshiharu Matsumoto, Chairman of RDV Systems. “Companies providing data destruction services in Japan, as well as their customers, will benefit greatly the creation of a strong NAID chapter here.”
As a result of the partnership, the 25 members of RDV, a Japanese consortium of secure data destruction services, will join the more than 1,900 NAID member locations operating globally. According to NAID President Chris Isabell, owner of iSecure in Grants Pass, Ore., the partnership is another indication of the association’s growing relevance.
“NAID’s focus on proper third-party data destruction, including its stringent certification requirements, is proving attractive to service providers who aspire to meet a globally recognized standard,” said Isabell. “It speaks well of RDV that they recognized NAID’s role in setting that standard.”
With RDV forming the core of NAID-Japan, the next steps include expanding membership there, adding both hard copy destruction services and qualified IT asset disposal services. In addition, NAID-Japan will work diligently to promote the adoption of NAID certification by members and their customers.
“We fully expect NAID certification to attain the same popularity in Asia as it has elsewhere,” said NAID CEO Bob Johnson. “Data protection, regulatory compliance and vendor qualifications are of growing importance everywhere.”
In addition, NAID awarded its first NAID Certification of Sanitization Operations in China last month.

The NAID AAA Certification Program is offered on a voluntary basis to all NAID member companies providing information destruction services. Through the program, NAID members may seek certification for mobile and/or plant-based operations in paper or printed media, micro media, computer hard drive destruction, and/or computer hard drive sanitization. The certification program establishes standards for a secure destruction process, including such areas as operational security, employee hiring and screening, the destruction process, responsible disposal and insurance. NAID certified members are subject to announced and unannounced audits to validate certification.
