Nail-biting Action All Night at Bud Light Pro Fight 5
Arlington, TX (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- Bud Light Pro Fight 5 at Cowboys in Arlington, TX on Saturday, October 19, 2013 was filled with nail-biting bouts and great matches that challenged even the best boxers on the card. Almost 1500 fans winced and cheered simultaneously all night long as local favorites gave the fights of their lives.
Although Hector “El Diamante” Vazquez of Irving kept his Texas Super Welterweight by unanimous decision by fighting with flawless skill and tenacious ferocity in his battle with Cory Yett of Austin, TX, the entire 8 rounds was packed full of action. Yett certainly held his own and delivered some great blows that were enough to alarm Vazquez, but Vazquez held the pressure all the way to victory.
The undercard was packed with the same kind of nail-biting action. Jamaal Lawson of Lewisville, TX beat Desmond Fields of Texarkana, TX with a TKO in the fourth round after a 4 round battle that made both fighters look more like seasoned fighters than boxers who were making their pro debut. Ann Wolfe trained Travell Mazion of Austin, TX beat Hector Garza of Harlingen, TX with a TKO in the fourth round with his usual power, but because of the skill level of Garza, he was unable to pull off his usual early round KO.
Jonathan Ramirez of Irving, TX beat Cameron Johnson of Lewisville, TX with a TKO in the third round providing fans with another exciting pro debut fight during the evening. Similarly, the nerve-racking bout between Daniel Henry of Austin, TX and local favorite Mike Tufariello of Carrolton ended in a draw much to the dismay of a crowd full of fans who doubted the judges draw decision in favorite of the much loved Tufariello.
Perhaps the most daunting fight of the evening was the battle between, top national prospect Tony Lopez of Fort Worth, TX and seasoned Jamal Parram of St. Louis, MO, which ended with a victory for Lopez by split decision. The crowd was astonished when Lopez (6-0) who typically makes boxing look easy faced many blows that shook him and actually had him on the mat for the first time in his career. Lopez came back with his usual determination to take care of business with skill and speed walking away with his 7th victory.
Bud Light Pro Fight 5 was part of the Bud Light Pro Boxing Series promoted by Standing 8 Promotions. Bud Light Pro Fight 6 will take place on December 14th in a location to be announced in the DFW Metroplex.
