Nanoscience Instruments Expands into Contract Services with Nanoscience Analytical
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) October 06, 2017 -- With more than 15 years’ experience providing advanced instruments and applications consulting for microscopy and surface analysis, Nanoscience Instruments is now expanding into Analytical Services. Utilizing the in-house expertise in application consulting, Nanoscience Analytical offers a broad range of contract analysis services for advanced applications. Services will leverage techniques on: Scanning Electron Microscopy; Surface Metrology; and Nanomechanical Characterization & Tensile Testing.
“We sell and support advanced instruments to R&D, Production and Quality Assurance organizations across North America; however, we recognize that some companies who would like to acquire these tools may not currently be in position to purchase,” said Mark Flowers, co-founder of Nanoscience Instruments. “Nanoscience Analytical bridges that gap by providing access to these sophisticated tools while leveraging the expert capabilities of our team through and outsource service. We do this at competitive rates and with quick turnaround time.”
Contract analysis services will be co-located at Nanoscience’s recently expanded applications lab and service facility in Phoenix, Arizona.
“By leveraging a dedicated staff with backgrounds in chemistry, biochemistry, material science, physics and engineering, we can provide our clients with focused, expert guidance and access to multiple, complementary analytical techniques and solutions,” said Sebastian Kossek, co-founder of Nanoscience Instruments. “In some cases, this may facilitate an instrument purchase down the road; until then, we represent an efficient, competitively-priced source of sophisticated analytical services targeted to our client’s needs.”
Service Offerings by Nanoscience Analytical:
Scanning Electron Microscopy
An indispensable technique for obtaining highly detailed images and critical information about surface topology, SEM imaging can be coupled with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) to identify elemental composition. Key Features include Elemental analysis and mapping; specialized analysis for size distribution and orientation; a low temperature stage for wet samples; large area, high resolution micrographs; and the ability to remotely view data acquisition.
Surface Metrology
Optical Profilometry and Atomic Force Microscopy offers contact and non-contact methods for sub-micron, 3D surface characterization, with ability to analyze an extensive range of surface morphology at the nanoscale. Providing 2D and 3D images measure surface height, roughness, feature volume, surface wear, scratch and corrosion with extraordinary accuracy.
Nanomechanical Characterization & Micro Fiber Tensile Testing:
Mechanical characterization is of utmost importance in the design and development of new materials. Providing accurate measurement of properties such as Young’s Modulus, Hardness (Vickers, Shore), fracture toughness on a variety of materials from bio-gels to super alloys using instrumented nanoindentation with tensile tests on micro fibers to determine their strength, yield point and fracture load. Also available, nano-micro scale characterization of various microstructures such as MEMS accelerometers, gyroscopes, micro thrusters, micro mirrors, microcapsules, cantilever beams, and metamaterials to measure structure dependent properties along with failure analysis. The unique force sensing capabilities cover 9 orders of force magnitude from nanoNewtons to milliNewtons allows testing on almost any sample possible.
