NAPW Announces Olga L. Husbands, Manager of Nursing Operations & Systems at NYU Hospital of Joint Diseases, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Olga L. Husbands, M.S.N., R.N., ANP, ONC, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Husbands is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in nursing. For more than 15 years, Ms. Husbands has been an instrumental part of New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases (NYUHJD). Ms. Husbands began her nursing career at NYUHJD first as an L.P.N. and then an R.N. In 2008, she transitioned into a managerial role before completing her Master’s in Nursing. In her current role as Manager of Nursing Operations and Systems at NYUHJD, Ms. Husbands is responsible for value analysis and overseeing electronic medical records, ensuring all patients’ records are accurate, up-to-date and easily accessible.
A highly regarded nursing professional, Ms. Husbands has received numerous accolades for her tireless dedication to her chosen profession. She was a 2013 Regional Finalist for the nurse.com Nursing Excellence Gem Awards in the areas of patient and staff management. Ms. Husbands also received the 25th Annual Black Nurses Day 2013 Honoree Award for Special Services to the Nursing Profession. One of her professional goals is to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) degree.
