Garden City, NY (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- The National Association of Professional Women honors Trudy G. Easton as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in healthcare with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with nearly 500,000 members and over 400 Local Chapters.
“I am an IT analyst, but I still utilize my nursing skills,” says Ms. Easton. After spending several years working as a nurse in hospitals, Ms. Easton eventually made the move to a home care agency where she further honed her nursing skills. She then moved on to serve in a management role where she implemented clinical documents. Eventually, Ms. Easton took an IT position with the vendor that created the software used by the agency.
As the lead consultant at McKesson Corp., a healthcare services company, Ms. Easton is instrumental in creating customer education for a new clinical documentation system. She plays a key role in establishing process flows that enable customers to better understand the new documentation system, including video education and best practice recommendations.
Through her expansive product knowledge and the nursing acumen she developed early in her career and an ability to interact with and educate internal staff and outside agencies that use her company’s software, Ms. Easton has become a leader in the field. Her goal is to continue to work with software vendors, developing new products and creating clinical documentation that will have an impact on the healthcare industry.
