NAPW Binghamton, NY Local Chapter Learned How to Better Navigate Social Media Site at September Networking Event
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW Binghamton, NY Local Chapter gathered on September 18th for a professional networking meeting at Brothers2 restaurant in Endicott, NY.
The Chapter hosted guest speaker Debbie Saucke who delivered an excellent presentation that helped the group of professional women better navigate the social media site, LinkedIn.
The Chapter continued to work on its theme of “Making a Difference” by discussing ways to make a difference in the community, charities and in their personal and professional lives.
Domonica Creeley, the Binghamton Local Chapter President, kicked off the meeting with a warm welcome.
She invited members to introduce themselves, talk about why they joined NAPW and what they would like to gain from the experience.
The group then discussed some of the member benefits that NAPW has to offer, and the specific items they have taken advantage of and found most beneficial. The guest speaker then took the floor to deliver her presentation.
“Debbie Saucke gave a great presentation about how to better navigate LinkedIn,” said President Creeley. “Members and guests found her tips extremely helpful.”
Ms. Saucke’s presentation explained how to best use connections, and why making a profile complete is an important thing. The presentation also reviewed how LinkedIn may be used to search for jobs.
Another topic Ms. Saucke touched upon was how and why members and guests should join groups in LinkedIn and the important connections they can make by being a part of different groups.
After the presentation, the group of professional women discussed the upcoming meetings for the remainder of the year. The Chapter is continuing to explore the theme of “Making a Difference” and talked about options such as ways to make a difference in the community, make a difference in charities, making a difference in self and in business.
The Chapter’s open business, upcoming meeting dates and locations were also discussed. Meeting dates were reviewed to ensure minimal conflicts with other women’s and professional organizations that members may be part of.
Topics of discussion included options for Chapter meetings, an outdoor or family event in the future, a panel discussion meeting, themed meetings, guest speakers, attendance at meetings and meeting locations.
The next Binghamton Local Chapter meeting is scheduled for October 16th at 6:00pm.
Members in attendance were Marianne Kaufmann and Domonica Creeley. Guest speaker in attendance was Debbie Saucke.
Marianne Kaufmann is a project manager/technology consultant at DTCC-The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, which specializes in global finances. She is currently involved with the Project Management Institute. DTCC - WINS. She is also a guild certified Feldenkrais practitioner and a member of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America.
Domonica Creeley works for Groundwater Sciences Corporation as an administrative assistant. Groundwater Sciences Corporation’s principal services include hydrogeological consulting, focusing on solving complex groundwater and soil contamination problems and development of water resources for public and private use.
