She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in nursing. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting 850,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Angela into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her success in the nursing field is sure to inspire young girls and women to choose this career path.”
Angela R. Landry has worked as a Registered Nurse immediately following her graduation from San Francisco State University in 2007. She held her first nursing position at California Pacific Medical Center until 2014, when she became a Nurse Manager at Jerold Phelps Community Hospital, an affiliate of Southern Humboldt Community Healthcare. She was eager to utilize prior medical and surgical experience.
“I am currently a Nurse Manager for 16 nurses,” Ms. Landry said. “My other job duties include reviewing charts, interviewing and hiring and handling complaints.”
Ms. Landry is eager to work to make Jerold Phelps Community Hospital the best hospital possible for patients. “We are a small community and do not have a lot of resources,” she said. “I try to keep the community together so that we have critical access to healthcare services.” Ms. Landry also goes beyond her job duties by working on hospital fundraisers and seeking a grant for a CT scanner. On her own time, she hopes to expand her education to include more nursing certifications in the hope that she will become a Director of Nursing in the future.
When not at the hospital, Ms. Landry voluntarily teaches life support classes at a local high school and is involved in other community activities.
