NAPW Inducts Dr. Andrée Scown, Director, Center for Social & Emotional Leadership, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) December 01, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Dr. Andrée Scown as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in training and leadership. Beginning her career as an Educator, Dr. Andrée Scown taught in various settings and grade levels, including elementary to university instruction, and all in-between. Through her experience in the education field, she knows the need for strong social and emotional skills and recognized that educational leaders lacked training in those critical areas. After much research, Dr. Scown founded the Center for Social and Emotional (CSE) Leadership. As Director, she provides training in social and emotional skills for a variety of leaders from diverse backgrounds and professions.

Research shows that leaders who have strong social and emotional intelligence are the most successful leaders.” Dr. Scown offers training through individual and team consultations, on-site coaching, seminars and retreats. Dr. Scown has received training from UC San Diego’s Rady Center for Executive Development and the Institute for Mindful Leadership in New York. She obtained her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and is a past participant of the Social and Emotional Learning Summer Institute at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education. Aside from being the Director at CSE Leadership, Dr. Scown teaches courses as an adjunct faculty member for Northwest Nazarene University’s graduate programs in educational leadership.
