NAPW Inducts Kerri McGovern, Senior Director, Marketing & Member Services, American Chiropractic Association, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 20, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Kerri McGovern as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in nonprofit membership. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 775,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

From a young age, Kerri McGovern had her career sights set on the nonprofit world. “My father worked for the Special Olympics and the idea of work with a purpose was always something I strived for,” she said.
A graduate of American University and George Mason University, Ms. McGovern holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Law and Society, and a Master of Arts in Public Policy, respectively. She started her career as a Special Assistant at Bryan Cave LLP and then entered the nonprofit sector as a Coalitions Program Manager for the American Council of Engineering Companies. Her next move was to the Society of Research Administrators International as a Manager of Membership, Marketing and Communications prior to becoming the Membership Director and now the Senior Director of Marketing & Member Services at the American Chiropractic Association.
Ms. McGovern is responsible for the organization’s recruitment and retention activities, as well as messaging. In addition, she is part of a core team spearheading a technology upgrade of the organization’s database and website serving as Internal Project Manager. Ms. McGovern describes working with volunteer leadership as the most rewarding aspect of her position.
Organized, capable and extremely motivated, Ms. McGovern characterizes herself as a “highly specialized generalist.” “I especially excel at predicting a need and building benefits or messaging to support it,” she said. Her biggest professional accomplishment will come in the very near future, when the completion of the technology upgrade is realized. “We are going to come in on time and on budget,” she said.
