Garden City, NY (PRWEB) June 13, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Lori Patrice as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Lori into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
Ms. Patrice started her career in the legal field as an intern in court to a plaintiff’s attorney firm. “I would attend the court appearances with the attorney and run errands in the courthouse,” she said. “I was eventually hired and took over scheduling court appearances for the court, then I began setting up initial case files on new suits.”
In her current position for 15 years, Ms. Patrice is Lead Legal Assistant at the Law Offices of William S. Boorstein. At the law firm, which is located in New York City, she uses the industry skills she has honed to assist attorneys as they prepare for a case. Ms. Patrice’s key responsibilities include preparation of pleadings, setting up files, scheduling travel arrangements, assisting and mentoring legal secretaries, as well as reviewing files for discovery documents and preparing initial motion documentation and scheduling medical reviews. Ms. Patrice also leads a team that provides a newsletter focused on company culture and practices.
“The most challenging things about my job are also the most rewarding: there are various and numerous responsibilities,” she said. “Yet, this keeps everything so varied and exciting every day; there is always something new to learn. I love it.” Currently, Ms. Patrice is completing her Bachelor’s degree and plans to earn her law degree in the near future.
