Michele Thompson joined the U.S. Army in 1995 after participating in ROTC at James Madison University. Inspired by her father, a retired Navy Commander, she decided to expand her dedication to the military by working in the field of emergency management.
For the last three years, Ms. Thompson has held her current position where she instills subject matter expertise and guidance on all Force Protection and Mission Assurance. She also provides many recommendations on security posture for all U.S Military including Canada, Mexico and Bahamas. Along with managing a staff of 26, both military and government civilian employees, Ms. Thompson advocates for the development of resources and technologies to assist in improving security. Her many skills include organizing, planning, communicating, managing and leading teams to establish positive outcomes.
Currently transitioning from the military to civilian life, Ms. Thompson is looking forward to her future. “My goals are to find a career that I enjoy and that continues to enable me to serve my country and also make a difference,” she said.
