NAPW Inducts Namrata Kumar, Assistant Commissioner & Project Management of NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Namrata Kumar as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in healthcare. Ms. Kumar has been serving the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) for the last ten years as Program Manager and Director. A recent title change made her Assistant Commissioner, IT Strategy and Project Management.
“I love coding, so I earned my Master’s in Computer Science and continued in IT because it inspires me,” said Ms. Kumar, who has always found it exciting to keep up with changing technology.
For the last six months, her responsibilities have changed. She now leads the entire Bureau to meet the agency goals and ensure all IT projects are delivered within budget and in a timely manner. Ms. Kumar uses her capabilities as a Crisis Management Specialist to lead her team through the toughest of situations.
A dedicated professional, Ms. Kumar continues to make strides in her career. “The most challenging and most rewarding thing about my career is the pace of the technology, which always keeps me motivated,” she said. Her goal is to take on the role of Chief Information Officer and eventually, become CEO of her own IT startup.
