NAPW Members Wrap Up the Year by Celebrating Accomplishments and Spreading Holiday Cheer to Those in Need at Networking Events Across the US During the Month of December
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) January 14, 2015 -- Finding a reason to celebrate the season was easy for thousands of NAPW members and their guests last month as they wrapped up a Year of Action by gathering together at festive networking events and charitable fundraisers across the country. From applauding each other’s personal and professional achievements to spreading holiday cheer to those in need in their communities and beyond, Local Chapters took time this holiday season to acknowledge all they accomplished, help those less fortunate and set goals for another successful year.
“Our 2014 Year of Action came to a close and what a powerful year it was! We wrapped it up, gave ourselves credit for an amazing job of great success and said hello to our 2015 Year of Power!” says Star Jones, President.
In NAPW’s Eastern Region, the NYC Local Chapter rolled out the red carpet at a holiday celebration for Chapter members and their guests that benefited NAPW Foundation Partner Girls Inc.
“In the true spirit of the holidays, we collected well over 100 ‘Gifts for Girls’ for Girls Inc. members in the South Bronx. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of all who attended!” says Louise Newsome, NAPW National Director of Chapters and NYC Chapter President.
Other Chapters in the Eastern Region did their part to spread some holiday cheer. In Boston, MA, members gathered for a charitable wine tasting event that raised funds for HeartPlay, a local nonprofit that helps children and teens cope with the loss of loved ones. Members and guests in the Forest Hills, NY Local Chapter collected warm coats for homeless veterans and their families while those in Nassau and Putnam Counties, NY; Philadelphia, PA and Midlothian, VA raised much-needed funds for local women’s shelters.
Holiday networking events that featured everything from delicious potluck dinners to vibrant guest speakers were held in Harford, CT; Morris County, NJ; Newport News and Norfolk, VA and Scranton, PA. In the spirit of “the more the merrier,” Local Chapters in Washington, DC gathered with Chapters in Bowie, Rockville and Baltimore, MD at a networking celebration. The evening of gift giving, food and fun was recorded for a live, syndicated television broadcast of Ms. Deborah’s Tearoom. Local Chapter Presidents were interviewed for the show about the many accomplishments of NAPW members this past year.
Across the country in NAPW’s Western Region, Local Chapters were just as creative when it came time to wrap up 2014. In Honolulu, HI, members had the opportunity to showcase their products and services at the Chapter’s holiday celebration. Members and guests in Los Angeles, CA and Seattle, WA also gathered together for holiday networking events.
Members in NAPW’s Central Region Local Chapters, including Carrollton and North Houston, TX; Norman, OK and Wichita, KS, took some time during the hectic holiday season to celebrate each other’s achievements and find ways to give back to those in need.
Local communities in NAPW’s Northern Region also benefited from the generosity of Chapter members. NAPW’s Augusta, GA Chapter hosted a holiday celebration for veterans while members in Brandon, FL made the holidays merrier for three local families by donating food and gift items. Members in Baton Rouge, LA explored their creative side at a ‘pARTy at Your Place’ event; members in New Orleans, LA and Pembroke Pines, Miami, Aventura and Fort Lauderdale, FL gathered for networking and celebratory holiday dinners. A holiday kickoff event welcomed members to the newly established Orlando, FL Local Chapter.
From much-welcomed tips about de-stressing during the holidays to hands-on opportunities for power networking, Local Chapters in NAPW’s Northern Region, including Cleveland and Columbus, OH and Naperville, IL, hosted unique events for members and their guests.
Throughout the year and across the country, NAPW members came together to empower each other, celebrate personal and professional achievements and make exciting plans for another successful year. In the words of President Star Jones: “If you think 2014 was off the charts, 2015 will take us to even greater heights of achievement. Happy New Year!”
