Narconon Arrowhead Establishes Holiday Addiction Help Hotline
Canadian, OK (PRWEB) November 22, 2015 -- Officials of the Narconon Arrowhead Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and Training center, located on the shores of Lake Eufaula in Canadian, Oklahoma, announced today that the organization will launch a toll-free Holiday Addiction Help Hotline that will be manned by drug rehabilitation specialists around the clock through the Holiday season. The establishment of this hot-line will give the addicted individual or their loved ones someone knowledgeable about addiction to talk to over the holidays.
According to Narconon Arrowhead spokesman Bobby Newman, “The Narconon organization has been helping people overcome addiction for 50 years. We know that many times drug related trauma can be minimized and lives saved if addicts or their loved ones have someone to reach out to when negative feelings or problems first manifest.”
The period from Thanksgiving to New Year’s is a time when many individuals addicted to drugs and and/or alcohol tend to experience more stress and anxiety during the holiday season. They try to ignore their condition and attempt to participate in family gatherings, office parties or other holiday activities. This can create more stress and anxiety as they try to hide their addiction and socialize. This behavior typically results in increased drug and alcohol consumption to medicate away the bad feelings which can result in serious accidents or death from an overdose.
“We know that people addicted to drugs and alcohol are more likely to experience negative feelings and emotions during the holiday season. If there is someone a person can talk to who understands what they are going through when they are suffering that conversation can save a life and that is why Narconon Arrowhead established the Holiday Help Hotline,” Newman said.
