Narconon New Life Retreat Supports Local Cinderella Project
Denham Springs, LA (PRWEB) April 07, 2014 -- The mission of The Cinderella Project is to support young women statewide with resources that may not exist for them otherwise. Their goals are to provide educational outreach and community-based projects that empower young women with increased self-confidence, instill an appreciation for community service and demonstrate the importance of giving back. Narconon Louisiana has been supporting the project for the past several years in an effort to forward these goals. Empowering young women aligns with Narconon's goal of preventing drug abuse before it starts.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information states one of the most important goals in treating women with substance abuse problems is to ensure that they are empowered to make healthy decisions. By supporting projects such as The Cinderella Project, Narconon is encouraging that these lessons are taught early, before these young women turn to drugs in the first place. Facility Administrator for Narconon New Life Retreat Kelley Keeney said, "In our experience, young women who develop self-esteem and are encouraged to make healthy decisions, have significantly fewer problems with drug addiction. Assisting The Cinderella Project to fulfill those goals in our local area, makes complete sense for our treatment program."
In addition to supporting The Cinderella Project, Narconon New Life Retreat recently donated drug education videos to the local Project Graduation. The drug education DVD's provided to the organizers of project graduation are entitled "The Truth About Drugs" and document the effects of drug and alcohol use by a group of former drug addicts who come from many different points of view. In addition, New Life Retreat plans to sponsor a display for alcohol awareness week as a service to local libraries as a means to reach even more people.
Continuing in its long tradition of delivering drug and alcohol education programs, Narconon delivers its evidence based drug education program to thousands of children throughout the world.
