NASBA Announces 2013 Accounting Education Research Grant Recipients
Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) is pleased to announce the recipients of its Accounting Education Research Grants Program. Three grants, totaling $24,500, will be awarded to faculty and postdoctoral researchers as they advance research on educational issues impacting Certified Public Accountants (CPA), the public accounting profession and Boards of Accountancy, charged with protecting the public.
The selection process was facilitated by the members of NASBA’s Education Committee, chaired by Karen Turner, CPA, Ph. D. The Committee is tasked with funding up to $25,000 in accounting education research grants annually. Since the program’s initial launch in 2011, nearly $70,000 has been awarded to aid academics in pursuing accountancy-focused research initiatives.
“We are again excited to award three grants this year,” said NASBA Chief Relationship Officer Alfonzo Alexander. “We are encouraged that the results of the research will help us better understand the current realities and the future needs of accounting education.”
