Nate Staniforth Launches “Real Magic Tour”
Ames, Iowa (PRWEB) February 25, 2016 -- “Magicians get to see people at their very best. A moment of genuine impossibility and uncomprehending wonder makes everyone forget to be cool for a second. No one is acting or pretending. They’re just there, unguarded and open.” – Nate Staniforth
In March, Nate Staniforth will launch the Real Magic Tour, a series of intimate theatre-style performances that showcase his unique take on magic. The Iowa City-based magician, performer, writer, traveler and former host of the Discovery Channel’s hit TV show Breaking Magic, has dedicated his career to exploring the role of wonder and amazement in our lives. He abandons the ubiquitous style-without-substance bravado so often associated with magic, and appeals instead to the imagination and intellect of his audience. The Real Magic Tour is ideal for the readers, artists, poets, and innovators of the world who are open to an authentic journey.
Even without smoke machines and pulling rabbits out of hats, Nate’s performances feel more like jumping out of an airplane than a night at a comedy club. The journey is wild, visceral and immediate, and like all great art, encourages us to open our minds and hearts, and see the world in new ways. In 2016, Nate plans to perform 80 shows in the U.S. on the Real Magic Tour, playing three to five ticketed shows in each city, booked either one or two weeks apart on the same day of the week. The shows are not recommended for children.

Nate Staniforth has toured the U.S. college circuit for over a decade as one of the busiest working magicians in the country. He’s also a founding member of Band of Magicians, a five-star-reviewed ensemble magic show that in 2015 enjoyed sold-out tours throughout Australia. (The three other members include Justin Willman, Justin Flom and James Galea.) Additionally, Nate has shared the philosophical underpinnings of his work through both a TED Talk and lecture at the world-famous Oxford Union.
In 2017, the Harry Potter-famed Bloomsbury Publishing will put out Nate’s memoir, Here Is Real Magic, in bookstores worldwide. The book follows Nate's evolution from obsessed wunderkind to disillusioned wanderer, and tells the story of his rediscovery of astonishment—and the importance of wonder in everyday life—during his trip to the slums of India, where he infiltrated a 3,000-year-old clan of street magicians.
