New York, NY (PRWEB) June 08, 2016 -- Representatives from the nation’s largest public pension plans, state treasurers and chief investment officers (CIOs) from global fund of funds, foundations, endowments are set to meet with small and diverse managers at ConsortiumEAST 2016 and explore issues regarding sector returns and possible investment opportunities.
Marking its 13th year, the RG + Associates event has emerged as the must-attend gathering for institutional investors and their advisors to connect with newly launched private equity, venture capital, hedge, public equity and real estate funds. Finance and community leaders advocating for pension funds to tap a broader mix of investment managers will join special guest speaker, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. and drive sessions and discussions. Two companion programs—The Bootcamp for emerging managers and The LP Intensive for institutional investors will be held on the first day of Consortium 2016 at The Intercontinental New York Times Square.
"We attract active investors—with a combined $4 trillion in assets under management (AUM)—that are actively investing in the small, diverse manager arena. For newly launched firms, the forum provides unprecedented exposure to active and interested investors,” said Renae Griffin, CEO, RG + Associates. “The past few years have brought big wins for small and diverse managers. At the same time, significant challenges in raising funds from institutional investors persist. The Consortium provides needed strategies and solutions to help both managers and institutional investors to move forward.”
ConsortiumEAST sessions will explore sector performance, protocols and fund operations; a series of workshops provide hands-on insights from 20+ public pension plans regarding their current—and future—investment strategies and possible points of engagement for small and diverse managers. The event also includes two half-day programs focused on critical needs of managers and institutional investors:
• The Bootcamp addresses challenges small and diverse managers face as they launch and grow their firms. Attendees include leaders of funds that have launched in the past 24 months, including teams raising their first or second rounds of institutional financing. Sessions focus on fundraising strategies, pitches and materials for more effective engagement and traction within the institutional investor and consultant arena.
• The LP Intensive brings together representatives from approximately 120 public and private pension funds, endowments, foundations and union funds, family offices and fund of funds for a rare, peer-to-peer dialogue.
